Ashlee started practicing reiki to relieve her own anxiety and exhaustion from auditioning and performing. Being keenly aware that many of her fellow actors suffered the same acute levels of stress, Ashlee began integrating reiki into her creative life and developing classes and sessions for performers. She believes that reiki is a methodology that helps the actor and performer in part because it can be intrinsically understood. Actors use their bodies as instruments of creativity. Reiki uses the body and touch as basis for healing.
Ashlee is uniquely skilled in both dramatic arts and the practice of reiki. She received her BFA in Drama from New York University and her MFA in Acting from the Yale School of Drama. She has appeared on stage and on film in New York City as well as regionally. As a director and teacher, she has worked at The Denver Center Theatre Company, The National Conservatory, Stanford University, University of Colorado at Denver, University of Denver, Denver School of the Arts, GALSCO, Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, SHO in Denver and SysTryst Theatre Company.
